As Jurgen Klopp once said, football is the least important of the most important things in life. This World Cup has a 1936 Olympics feel to it. Football should be about bringing people together, however this World Cup is likely to go down as the most divisive and corrupt WC in football history. I've chosen for the first time in my life not to watch it. I've very much detached myself from it. I've no idea who will win - it's not that important to me right now. A line in one of the songs I've written seems pretty apt: "And if head the ball wants to play we'll pack our things and leave we'll tell him that we're running late for tea. And if he kicks off again we'll have to run away and promise him next time we'll all have a game of heads and v's - FUCK THAT!" Similarly with top tier club football, money and corruption has ruined the game. Football should be the same game with the same rules no matter if you're playing in the park with your mates or playing the World Cup final. I'd much rather watch Prescot Cables at the minute.
